Cancer Free is the Way the World Should Be
Updated: Oct 15, 2020
A message from the founder, Pat Morris —
Hello and welcome to the Scrawney-Morgan Foundation, a host organization that sponsors several fundraising ventures, raising money to bring an end to cancer and the suffering of patients and their families. Founded in 2013, the Scrawney-Morgan Foundation works to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In recent years, the foundation has also been bolstering its efforts by collaborating with and contributing to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.
Many of you know us through the valiant work of our volunteers, benefactors, and participants in the following fundraising events we participate in as a team or host:
Pan Mass Challenge
Kids PMC Ride, Cape Ann Chapter
Hook-A-Cure Fishing Tournament
Jimmy Fund Walk
The Scrawney-Morgan Foundation and its subsequent teams are named in memory of my beloved husband lost to cancer. We are a group of friends, family, and a growing cadre of new friends committed to bringing an end to the cancer terror before it rips any more loved ones from our lives. You can help us make a difference.
Our website is your place to come, get to know us, learn about our mission and honor the great work of our friends and neighbors working on our mission with us.
We are serious about partnering in finding a cure for cancer and also having fun making new friends while participating in our vital fundraising events. This is an invitation to YOU to learn about the Scrawney-Morgan Foundation and join us in making a difference in the lives of others…possibly your loved ones. You will not find a more dedicated and bonded group of friends who are selflessly giving of others.
The "Covid Curse" canceled every regular 2020 Scrawney-Morgan Foundation fundraising event. These circumstances have been devastating, to say the least. Despite the pandemic, cancer cannot be canceled, nor is it able to quarantine for 14 days and go away. As the virus reared its ugly head this spring and summer, cancer continued to take lives and torment families.
The Scrawney-Morgan warriors vowed never to be caught flatfooted again and to pick up the battle where we left off 7 months ago. Our rebel alliance invites you to join us in any of these 2020 campaign events:
Jimmy Fund Walk as a member of the Scrawney-Morgan Team. A “Virtual” walk on Cape Cod, 4 October 2020. Sign up at: https://bit.ly/2FpOqN2
Blood Drive to benefit the Red Cross/Dana-Farber this fall at True North in Ipswich. More details to follow at: www.scrawney-morgan.org.
The Scrawney-Morgan Foundation mantra for 2021 is “Cancer free is the way the world should be!”. Our team is optimistically planning:

We have a lot of ground to make up from 2020 but the future is bright! The Scrawney-Morgan family invites you to join us as participants in the events, volunteer event crew members, sponsors, benefactors or cheerleaders. Here's what we're asking from you:

Sign-up for any of the events sponsored by Scrawney-Morgan and those co-hosted by the Scrawney-Morgan and Joe Andruzzi Foundation: scrawney-morgan.org/programs
Follow us on our social media channels Facebook and LinkedIn.
If you're not ready to join us, please consider donating to our foundation and our fight against cancer. All funds raised are used for various avenues of cancer research and patient support through the Pan-Mass Challenge, Dana-Farber, or the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. Our foundation is yet another pillar of support in the fundraising army needed to take down cancer. The Jimmy Fund is the sponsor of the Pan-Mass Challenge events and solely supports the fight against cancer at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Between 88% to 100% of every dollar raised goes straight to cancer treatment and research. Here is the Jimmy Fund breakdown: jimmyfund.org/curing-cancer/where-your-money-goes/.
Though the terms "We're all in this together" and "It takes a Village" have become a bit cliché today...in the battle against cancer- they couldn't be any truer!
