We've Got Plans for 2021
Happy New Year!
When I sat down to try and say a few words about 2021 regarding our plans for Scrawney-Morgan and our Hook-A-Cure Fishing Tournament... I felt a tad overwhelmed by the unknown still shimmering out there in the Covid sea. Last year my Superpower became the ability to cancel events over and over again as this uncharted mystery wave rolled over us. I sure do not want a repeat of last year in any way, shape, or form!
There has been some good news, though. I looked at the running total of all the donations and hard work we have put in to someday eradicate cancer and the pain it causes—it sure puts everything in perspective. Even in a pandemic—you guys ROCK!

Since 2013, our family, friends, neighbors, strangers, corporations, Mom & Pop stores all joined forces to help our organization help Dana-Farber in their wonderful mission! Last year was not our best but we still managed to add some $10,000 raised to bring our running total over $208,000! "Thank you" never seems to say enough! My Dad always said, "If there is a will, there is a way"... SO, this year we are streamlining our efforts by putting on events we KNOW we can do, and do safely and well!
Welcome the Dana-Farber Blood Mobile!
If you don't know already, we've introduced our Pint for a Pint Dana-Farber Blood Drives! Our events rolled out on the North Shore at True North Ales in Ipswich and soon will include Metro-West at 7th Wave Brewery in Medfield! Our first Pint for a Pint event this past November was a terrific success! We will be updating all upcoming events as information comes in! Our True North dates are 2/13/21, 5/1/21, and 9/11/21. By Hook or Crook!
Baring swarms of Locust or Alien invasions, we will be hosting our 3rd Hook-A-Cure Tournament with some exciting changes to be announced shortly! We've already got our date so, pencil in 7/16/21 for the big day. In the sage words of Yoda, "Do or do not, there is no try." It's all hands on deck for our Tournament this year!
Plus, help is on the way!
We are also in the beginning stages of creating an advocacy program within Scrawney-Morgan that we will expound on shortly! Keep an eye out for the introduction of PartnerforHope.org in 2021.
I know everything I mentioned still has a great deal of TBA components and I apologize for that. I truly feel the best is yet to come! So, let's keep casting our lines into the wind and hook a cure together!
