PAN-MASS CHALLENGE
Team member Pat Morris' husband, Russell, lost his battle to cancer in 2013. Our friends were compelled to do something more in his memory and the memory of others close to us. That is how we discovered the Pan-Mass Challenge and Team Scrawney-Morgan was born. The PMC is an annual bike ride with multiple long distance routes (up to 192 miles) across Massachusetts that helps raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. The mission of this ride is to help provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers and this mission resides closely with ours. Since 2014, our PMC team has raised over $100,000 of unrestricted funds. If you would like to make a donation you may do so here on our site (which is sometimes matched by corporate sponsors) or on our Pan-Mass Team Profile.
We are always looking for new riders to join us!

PMC KIDS RIDES
Cape Ann PMC Kids Rides
Next Event - 9/17/22!!!
Pat's granddaughter, 12 year old Alexis, was upset that she could not participate in the adult Pan-Mass Challenge ride the year her grandfather, Russell passed away. She called the Pan-Mass Challenge organization to see what could be done. The PMC Kids Rides program was born in 2005 and the Cape Ann, MA chapter was established in 2013 thanks to Alexis and her family. Since it's inception our chapter has raised over $40,000 dollars of unrestricted funds. The Kids Rides program is for children ages 2–15 years old and our chapter has produced many adult PMC riders as they have come of age. We are always looking for staff and volunteers to help us facilitate this program. The event takes place annually at Masconomo Park in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. Want to help us kick start our event? Make a donation!

JIMMY FUND WALK
Team Scrawney-Morgan
After having missed the 2013 Pan-Mass Challenge, our organization was determined to get started more than ever. Our friend, Barbara Hayes, had been participating in the annual Jimmy Fund Walk for years after losing several relatives to breast cancer. When team member Pat Morris' husband, Russell, lost his battle to cancer, Barbara offered to change her team's name to Team Scrawney-Morgan in Russell's memory and we jumped to walk by her side that year and every year there after. Our team has raised well over $20,000 since then and we are committed to keep striding in the memory of all those we have lost and are still battling!
Anyone is welcome to join our team or make a donation.

Fishing Tournament and Event
NEXT EVENT DATE: TBA
Hook A Cure had been a cancer fundraising vision stirring among our organization since its inception. Finally, in 2018 our striped bass fishing tournament and fundraising event was born. Our mission was a bit different. We wanted to not only aid Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in their research for cures, but also help local families on the North Shore of Massachusetts afflicted with cancer. In 2019, we teamed up with Joe Andruzzi and the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to help our plan come to fruition. Forever looking for a way to expand our event, in 2021 we added the Giant Bluefin Tuna to our tournament! We took a page out of the Joe Cronin Fishing Tournament who supported the Jimmy Fund on the South Shore of Massachusetts and personalized it with Pat Morris' husband Russell's memory in mind. This event is perfect not only for new or avid anglers but also for families and friends. In addition to the tourney, there is a buffet style dinner, an Awards ceremony, auction, as well as great speakers and guests!
